A young person canβt begin using a contraceptive method if their local provider refuses to give it to them.
While the platform performed quite well and allowed customers to complete their journey, the level of confusion as well as the lack of certainty in clients showed there was a huge area of opportunity to improve this platform to enhance even better experiences
Case Study
Reducing healthcare provider bias that hinders the provision of contraceptive information and services to adolescents.
One of the persistent and pervasive barriers that hinders young people from accessing sexual & reproductive health services is judgment and bias from the
healthcare provider when they try to seek services.

The Beyond Bias project has been going on for several years, our involvement in this project was specifically during the Live Prototyping Phase of an already researched and tested service delivery.
The project was inteded to test a general solution in 3 specific regions East Africa: Tanzania, South Asia: Pakistan, and West Africa: Burkina Faso to test the solutionβs 3 phases: 1) Connect; 2) Summit; 3) Rewards phases.
During the prototyping we discovered the need for an additional service to compliment which was tested in a rough prototype.
-
Service design, research and understanding of the service implementation designed for the Live Prototyping of the solution which included three phases of interaction: Connect, Summit, and Engage.
Designer, for the rough prototype we designed in the field intended for a hotline for young girls, I supported the team with product and visual solutions.
Visual designer, helped refine the branding from phase 1 of rough prototyping to phase 2 of Live Prototyping.
User testing, conducted user research for testing and iteration.
Workshop facilitation for several activities at different stages of the prototyping sessions.
-
User research to understand users during the three phases/
User research with young girls to understand the value of the hotline.
In-depth user interviews and shadowing exercises.
Visual design for several design support materials.
Translations to French when needed.
